Letters Using e-Readers at Mass
As regards Anne Lastman's concerns about the use of electronic gadgets, for many years I used the daily missal, but now find it cannot be used as easily as an electronic version of the missal. I cannot but help to express the joy I have of using my Kindle e-Reader during Mass. I use the Universalis app to allow me to follow the readings as well as the Eucharistic prayers as used for the day. Another important point is the fact that in some churches the acoustics are such that you are unable to hear the readings, and hence can't follow them. Perhaps Anne needs to accept that some modern trends are not necessarily inappropriate or bad. GERRY VAN HEES, Reprinted from AD2000 Vol 28 No 5 (June 2015), p. 7 |
