Msgr John McCarthy (Editor of Living Tradition), says the official Latin edition of E.V. (s.99) should rather be translated as, "And you are able to entrust your child in hope to the same Father and to his mercy" (from Acta Apostolicae Sedis, 1995, pp. 401ff).
