Letters Latin Course for FluencyThis course is designed for those who wish to develop fluency in Latin. Students new to Latin or who have already learnt basic grammar can expect to acquire enough facility so that they can read and hear Latin with direct understanding. Lessons are to be held at the Caroline Chisholm Library, Lonsdale St, Melbourne, on 13 successive Tuesdays from 6 to 7:30 p.m., starting on 1 September. The purpose is to enhance learners' participation in the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite, though teaching materials will not usually be texts from the Liturgy or Sacred Scripture. The course will be taught using principles of contemporary language teaching. The cost of the course is $130, with enrolment limited to 20 students. Further details and an enrolment form can be obtained from www.latinmassmelbourne.org/latin.htm Reprinted from AD2000 Vol 22 No 8 (September 2009), p. 16 |
