With this issue, we launch the 2005 Fighting Fund which helps ensure the continuation of the role which AD2000 plays in the battle for religious orthodoxy and for the future of Australian society.

Since AD2000 was established by Mr B.A. Santamaria in 1988, it has played a vital role in upholding the truths of the Faith, and supporting Popes John Paul II and Benedict XVI in defending the Church from its opponents. Equally importantly, AD2000 highlights positive developments which give hope that the Church will meet the challenges of the contemporary world.

As Benedict XVI has pointed out repeatedly, the future of Western civilisation is threatened by the forces of individualism, materialism and secularism which are dissolving the bonds that hold society together, particularly marriage and the family, undermining legitimate authority in both Church and state, and causing the de-Christianisation of society.

It is no coincidence that these developments coincide with the emergence of globalism, which treats the human person not as the summit of all creation, but as a cog in a global economic machine. In the long run, this is a greater threat to Western civilisation than Islamic fundamentalism which, in some respects, is motivated by envy and resentment at the achievements of the Christian West.

Your support will help ensure that AD2000 continues its vital work. Donations can be sent to PO Box 186, North Melbourne, Vic 3051 or made online at ad2000.com.au/cgi-bin/support.pl. All donations will be gratefully acknowledged.
