Reflection: Teaching children about the Eucharist - Audrey English

I read with interest 'The scandal of Australia's anti-life Catholic politicians' in your March publication.

Six months ago I would have agreed entirely with the sentiments expressed. However, an article in The Australian (28 October 2006) has given me reasons for second thoughts. It was an edited abstract from a recent book, Acting on Conscience by Fr Frank Brennan SJ (Queensland University Press).

I presume many Catholics at the political 'coal face' would have been advised by Fr Brennan, while others would have read his book.

To the best of my knowledge, none of the statements made in that book have yet been refuted, or even disputed by his peers. We may have to wait!

It is easy to rush in 'where angels fear to tread.'
