FATIMA FOR TODAY:
The Urgent Marian Message of Hope
by Father Andrew Apostoli CFR
(Ignatius Press, 2010, 288pp, $39.95. ISBN: 978-1-58617-523-8. Available from Freedom Publishing)

Fr Andrew Apostoli is a founding member of the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal, has been teaching and preaching retreats and parish missions over many years and is an expert on the apparitions at Fatima.

He is also the Vice-Postulator for the Cause for the Canonisation of Archbishop Fulton Sheen and a frequent guest on EWTN.

In 1917, three young children were visited six times by Mary in Fatima, Portugal. Through her appearances and messages, Mary asked the children for increased prayer, devotion, and repentance on behalf of the world. She stressed praying the Rosary and gave the children three "secrets", three prophetic visions that unfolded over time

Unfortunately many of today's Catholics have never heard of the Miracle of the Sun at Fatima and Our Lady's warnings, predictions and requests. What does God have to do to get our attention? We should share this book and the Fatima events with as any people as we can.

In his book, Fr Apostoli breaks down each of Mary's messages and explores their significance for our own time. He also covers many different interpretations of the messages from popes, saints, and theologians over the past century.

For those interested in the Fatima visions, the three "secrets" or the significance and meaning of Mary's messages, this book offers an excellent overview. It is also attractively produced with twenty colour plates to illustrate the people and places involved in the Fatima apparitions.
