CorrectionI refer to the article by Br Barry Coldrey, "Young Men of God 2012 Conference showcases Christian leadership", in the December-January AD2000. I wish to make a clarification to an otherwise excellent article. Br Coldrey said that Jonathon and Karen Doyle along with their three children were recently granted the "Australian Capital Territory Family of the Year Award". In fact they were awarded the Australian Family Association's ACT Branch Family of the Year Award. CHRISTOPHER RULE EDITOR: In Frank Mobbs' article in the March AD2000, the original text: "They [friars] soon became learned. Dominicans purposely sought intellectual excellence. Friars soon became university teachers, producing famous philosophers and theologians, such as St Thomas Aquinas, Duns Scotus, and William of Occam" was altered to: "Dominicans sought sought intellectual excellence and soon became university teachers, producing famous philosophers and theologians, such as St Thomas Aquinas, Duns Scotus and William of Occam." This changed the meaning to Scotus and Occam being Dominicans whereas they were Franciscans. Reprinted from AD2000 Vol 26 No 3 (April 2013), p. 14 |
