Reflection: Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy - Anne Lastman

Further to Frank O'Connor's letter in the December issue of AD2000, I thank him for his encouraging words however, I would have to disagree with him.

On the term to be used for homosexual individuals of either gender, I personally intensely dislike the word "sodomites". It is such a pejorative term and almost hate-filled.

I am always reminded of the late Pope, St John Paul II, and his comment that a human remains a human being even in their darkest moments, and this being so, we remember the divine image which is embedded even in the homosexual person.

We further know that as long as the individual lives there can always be a moment of grace where the passing by of the Holy Spirit animates a change and assists a conversion.

I hope and pray for every homosexual person that their wounded sexuality will be healed.
