The 29 October edition of the Catholic Leader ran a story about two Polish priests arriving in Armidale (NSW) to help relieve a shortage of priests in the diocese.

Regrettably, the Diocese of Toowoomba (Qld) also has a shortage of priests. Not so long ago, the opportunity was given to have overseas priests come into the diocese, but unfortunately that opportunity was not taken up.

It is gratifying to see that Bishop Matthys has recognised the need to have priests in parishes and has shown initiative in the matter.
