Church design (letter)
Michael Baradinsky

I fully endorse what Marie Cassey wrote in her article titled "'Re-ordered' and 'new' churches - symptoms of a wider spiritual malaise". It is so nice to occasionally stumble across an old church somewhere in the country that hasn't been "renovated".
These traditional churches convey a sense of peace and belonging that you don't get in the new sterilised and stripped barns of today. It is the difference between warmth and cold.
Like Latin, the traditional design was universal. No matter where you travelled in the world, you knew a Catholic church when you walked into one. You felt you were in the right place - a safe haven in a changing world.
