Ballarat - Bringing Christ to the Land and the Land to Christ

Ballarat's Thomas More Centre Winter School, titled "Bringing Christ to the Land and the Land to Christ," will be held on 3-5 August 2001 at the Mulkearns Theatre, Australian Catholic University, 1200 Mair Street, Ballarat.

Speakers will include Anglican Bishop David Silk of Ballarat, Bishop Joseph Grech of Sandhurst, Paul Gray (Herald-Sun columnist), Fr Michael Shadbolt PP, Fr Dominic Murphy OP, Marcia Riordan, Carmel Turner and many others.

There will be a choice of four workshops, which will be repeated, dinner and a social evening on Saturday, and Mass in the Cathedral on Sunday at 5.00pm to conclude proceedings.

Brisbane - Put Out Into the Deep

Brisbane's Annual Thomas More Centre Winter School will be held on the weekend of 20-22 July. This year's theme is the new millenium and the Holy Father's challenge to "put out into the deep".

The venue is St Leo's College, University of Queensland, Brisbane.

The Winter School will feature international speakers: Helen Hull Hitchcock on "Recent Reform in the Liturgy" and Dr James Hitchcock on "Being Catholic in a Hostile Culture".

The Brisbane Winter School commences on Friday night, 20 July, with a presentation on the "Theology of Church Architecture". Saturday includes many more speakers and a discussion panel. Sunday's highlights include a Gregorian Chant workshop.
