Letters From IndiaGreetings from India. This is Fr A. Joseph wishing you and all your dear ones a very blissful Christmas and a prosperous New Year. Every year we celebrate this feast in remembrance of the first Christmas which took place 2000 years ago. I am happy to share my experience in Ireland where I had been for three weeks in the middle of October. A priest friend of mine, Fr Patrick Kelly, invited me to Ireland and I stayed with him and also with others of my Irish friends who took me around to visit places of historical importance. One such place was the Shrine of Our Lady of Knock in County Mayo. I stayed there for three days in prayer. It was a wonderful experience. I thank God for this and also Fr Patrick who helped me to stay there. During the Mass at the Shrine I remembered and prayed for readers of AD2000. I also visited 'Our Lady's Island' in Wexford where I prayed the mysteries of the holy rosary. Having enjoyed my pilgrim trip to these places and being much spiritually encouraged, I take this opportunity to thank readers for their parcels and supportive prayers. Please note my change of address: St Antony's Church, Uthangarai, Krishnagiri Dt, 635 207, TN, India. FR A. JOSEPH Reprinted from AD2000 Vol 21 No 2 (March 2008), p. 15 |
